Fretmancer — Last updated July 2026
The short version: Fretmancer does not collect, transmit, or share your personal information. Your work stays on your device.
No data collection
Fretmancer does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. Your instrument profiles, setup records, maintenance log, and settings are stored locally on your device and never leave it.
Microphone
The tuner and intonation checker need microphone access to hear the note you play. Permission is requested only when you open one of those screens, never at launch.
Audio is analyzed in memory to measure pitch and is discarded immediately. Nothing is recorded, saved to a file, written to a log, or transmitted. There is no way for the app to send audio anywhere — see the next section.
No network access
The app makes no network requests. The Android build ships without the
INTERNET permission, so it cannot open a network connection at
all. There are no analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting
services.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is processed by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. Apple and Google keep their own transaction records under their respective privacy policies; the app sends them nothing beyond the purchase or restore request you initiate through the store on your device.
Exported files
PDF setup sheets are generated on your device only when you ask for one, and are saved or shared wherever you choose. We receive no copy.
Children
Fretmancer collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated date above changes with it. Any change that would add data collection would also require updated privacy disclosures in the App Store and Google Play.
